Supplementing the News

Recently, I’ve been exploring various ways LittleSis can be used as a vessel for supplementing and improving upon information disseminated by major news sources.  Here’s just a few quick examples of news-worthy profiles I’ve been working on:

  • Joe Cassano, an AIG officer cited by Time Magazine as one of the 25 people to be blamed for the financial crisis.  I’ve sourced his retirement agreement with AIG, which makes for an interesting read.  Looks like Cassano continued to earn consultant fees of one million dollars per month after he retired.  (That’s fair, right?)  Also, make sure to read Cassano’s email to AIG staff asking for donations of over $2,000 to Senator Dodd‘s reelection campaign.  (Oh, and this email directly links him to Jake DeSantis, AIG’s self-proclaimed bailout martyr.  See the exclusive Washington Times article for more information).
  • AstraZeneca, a mega-pharmaceutical corporation with a proclivity for hiring lobbying firms such as Strategic Health Solutions and Tarplin Downs & Young for oodles and oodles of money.
  • Erik Prince, Chairman and CEO of Blackwater USA (now known as XE), who may face charges resulting from an internal whistleblower’s testimony stating that “Mr. Prince and and his employees murdered, or had murdered, one or more persons who have provided information, or who were planning to provide information, to the federal authorities about the ongoing criminal conduct” of Blackwater USA.

This week, I’ll be focusing exclusively on profiling Goldman Sachs affiliates.  Stay tuned!
