Today marks the official launch of the Lobbyists Editing Challenge, LittleSis’ first analyst contest!  Our citizen journalists are going head to head as they track down former congressional staffers who now work for the health care industry.  Each time a member of the health care research group adds a staffer to our master list or creates connections between lobbyists and members of Congress, they gain points. Points will accumulate for the entire month. Some of our analysts have already started!

At the end of August, we’ll be awarding our top three analysts with prizes that include LittleSis gear, books on the politics of health care, and more.  Participants in the contest will also have a chance to be featured in the blog of Adam Clark Estes, associate editor of citizen journalism at the Huffington Post Investigative Fund.

It’s not too late to get involved!  To begin, simply join the group and begin editing.  The group page has lots of great resources to get you started.

For people new to LittleSis, begin by signing up. For a limited time, we’re offering training calls to our new analysts – if you’re interested, email erin [at] littlesis [dot] org.

We’re excited to be able to give back to those who contribute to LittleSis.  We hope you’ll join us in this exciting project!
